Example of high bay lighting
Replacing eight 450-watt mercury vapour lamps with four AuLED “Antares” lights with 120 watts and two with 240 watts enabled 80% cost savings to be achieved with this installation. By way of comparison, 3,600 watts of energy were consumed before the installation and only 960 watts afterwards.

50 % cost savings in a small warehouse
Situation
Small warehouse with 16 x 150 W
(2 x 58 W OSRAM + electronic ballast)
= 2.400 W (2,4 kW) with 200 lx
Solution
5 x 240 W AuLED Industry
„Antares 240“
= 1.200 W Saving = 50 %
75 % cost savings in a large warehouse
Situation
Hall 530 & 531 (48,000 m²) with 4,400 x 75 W lamps
= 237.510 W (58 W T8 + VG)
Solution
Replaced with 360 x 240 W AuLED Industry
= 60.278 W Saving > 75 %
∼ 85 % cost savings in a warehouse
Situation
3 x 250 W mercury vapour lamps/sodium vapour lamps
275 W per gangway = 825 W x 6 gangways
= 4.950 W with 20 cents/kWh
Replace your old lamps as soon as possible
Old mercury and sodium vapour lamps are energy guzzlers. Replacing them with AuLED Industry “Antares” LED lights reduces the consumption in the warehouse in our example from 4,950 W to 780 W. It’s a worthwhile investment – and you, too, can save money with the electricity-saving alternative from AUTEV.
Solution
3 x 45 W per gangway
130 W per gangway with 6 gangways
= 780 W Saving ∼ 85 %
∼ 85 % cost savings in a high-bay warehouse
Situation
7 x 400 W MV lamps (450 W) per gangway = 3,150 W x 7 gangways
= 22.050 W with 24/7 operation
Solution
6 x 80 W per gangway = 480 W per gangway = 480 W x 7 gangways
= 3.360 W Saving ∼ 85 %
∼ 79 % cost savings in a paper factory
Situation
38 x 400 W MV lamps (450 W) per gangway = 17,100 W x 3 gangways
= 51.300 W during 24/7 operation, which corresponds to approx. 150 lx on average
Solution
15 x 240 W per gangway = 3,600 W per gangway = 3,600 W x 3 gangways
= 10.800 W Saving ∼ 79 % (> 200 lx on averag)
∼ 82 % cost savings in a cold store - situation 1
Situation 1: Gangways
Short gangway (25 m) 6 x 275 W MV/SV lamps = 1,650 W
Long gangway (80 m) 22 x 275 W = 6,050 W
= 7.700 W
Special features
Because of the low temperatures that permanently prevail in the cold storage rooms, both the mercury vapour (MV) and sodium vapour (SV) lamps have markedly reduced service lives. Furthermore, the high ceilings make it difficult and time consuming to replace the lamps.
- Very short service life because of the coldness
- High ceilings make it difficult to replace lamps
An illumination of 100 lx is permanently required in the gangways. 14 cents are required per kWh.
- 14 cents/kWh
- 100 lx required
Solution
Short gangway (25 m) 3 x 90 W = 270 W
Long gangway (80 m) 6 x 180 W = 1,080 W
= 1.350 W Saving ∼ 82 %
Short gangway
Long gangway
∼ 92 % cost savings in a cold store - situation 2
Situation 2: Gangway & ancillary room
42 x 275 W MV lamps across 1,050 m²
= 11.550 W
Special features
Because of the low temperatures that permanently prevail in the cold storage rooms, both the mercury vapour (MV) and sodium vapour (SV) lamps have markedly reduced service lives. Furthermore, the high ceilings make it difficult and time consuming to replace the lamps.
- Very short service life because of the coldness
- High ceilings make it difficult to replace lamps
100 lx of illumination is permanently required in the gangway and 150 lx in the ancillary room.
- 100 lx required in the gangway
- 150 lx required in the ancillary room
Solution
6 x 40 W (gangway) & 6 x 120 W (ancillary room)
= 960 W Saving ∼ 92 %
